AAR/JMA-Solutions- These fine organizations have demonstrated a passion for working with our community schools and as our partner to debut the exclusive Feed the Feeder Series. Both are a shining example of dedication to community. Both prove that by working together, great things happen. We are proud to recognize the Association of American Railroads and JMA as our inductee for September 2017.
Joe Weedon- Joe was elected to the SBOE in 2014 and has been a champion for our Ward 6 schools. For over a decade, Joe has been a leading voice for educational reform in the District. Joe worked with community members from across Ward 6 to develop and implement the DCPS Ward 6 Middle School Plan. He works tirelessly for our residents. Joe is the Executive Director for Company for Causes and a member of the NSCP L&D Committee. We are proud to recognize you as our inductee for August 2017.
Jefferson Academy- Jefferson Academy Middle School is one the fastest rising schools in DC and with a dedicated principal, teachers and staff, it would be difficult to single out any individual, so we've decided that the school itself should be in our Hall of Fame. We have no doubt that Jefferson will be the best Middle School in DC!

Anacostia RiverKeeper- Anacostia Riverkeeper is an advocacy organization working to protect and restore the Anacostia River for all who live, work, and play in the watershed. We rely on law and advocacy to improve water policy. We create meaningful encounters with the river to change the perception of the Anacostia. From Friday Night Fishing to Clean Waterways Events and more, ARK believes that the nation's rivers belong to everybody. We are proud to recognize you as our inductee for March, 2017.
Capitol Riverfront BID Clean & Safe Team-The Capitol Riverfront BID’s Clean and Safe Team is responsible for the day-to-day appearance of the neighborhood, creating a beautiful, clean and safe place to live, work, and play. Thank you for your hard work keeping our community looking so good.

ANC 6B04 Commissioner Kirsten Oldenburg- Kirsten is a shining example of hard work, dedication and putting the community first. Her blog highlights everything going on from crime statistics, upcoming meetings, project updates and more. On why she does it.. She says, being an ANC Commissioner is a lot of hard, occasionally frustrating, time-consuming work. But, I do it because I love living on Capitol Hill and want to do whatever I can to help preserve and enhance our neighborhoods. She sets a standard that is second to none. She served as Chair for the past 2 years. We are proud to recognize you as our inductee for January 2017.
ANC 6D Commissioner Ron McBee- Ron worked to improve the quality of life of every resident and he could seen walking the community at all hours of the day and night. "Ron McBee was a quiet warrior, but he took no prisoners." Ron was a personal friend & told our NSCP President to form a group in Near Southeast back in 2011. They spoke daily. He would be proud of us. We miss our community champion. Ron passed away in October 2013. We are proud to recognize you as our inductee for October, 2016.
Principals Izabela Miller & Natalie Gordon- Amidon-Bowen Elementary and Jefferson Academy have flourished under the leadership of these outstanding principals. Test scores, teacher retention and the overall environment in both schools have risen during their tenure.
These 2 great leaders have left a positive impact in both schools and in the community. We are proud to recognize them as our inductee for August 2016.
Lavagna (Barracks Row)- Lavagna has created it's Dine-Out-For-Charity event each month. A different group iss featured every Wednesday during that month and Lavagna donates 10% of theproceeds to that organization. What a great way to give back. We thank Steve, Emily and the gang at Lavagana for being a great community partner and we are proud to recognize you as our inductee for June 2016.
Washington Nationals- Not exactly Cooperstown, but the Nationals have done so much for our community that the recognition is easy. From tickets, to Ward 6 day to working with our schools, the new field at Randall and so much more, the team really does give back. We are proud to call you a partner and we thank you for supporting us. Thank you Gregory, London and the Nats Community Team. We are proud to recognize you as our inductee for April, 2017.
Rachael Shearouse, Education Director at Living Classrooms DC- Rachael is passionate about the environment and teaching children. In her role at Living Classrooms, she develops and facilitates programming and more. She oversees the highly successful "Floating Library" Program. Her passion extends to the Anacostia River where you will usually find her on the Halfshell We are proud to recognize you as our inductee for December, 2016.
Shaina Kirschenbaum, Teacher at Amidon-Bowen- Shaina has a passion for being around children. She finds herself constantly driven to work with children. Amidon-Bowen and her students are fortunate to have such a passionate educator in their corner. It is one reason why the school is as successful as it is. We are proud to recognize you as our inductee for November 2016.
Agua 301- Agua 301 in Yards Park has been a great community partner for a few years now. Steve, Amanda, Roger and the great staff make you feel at home whenever you come by. Agua 301 has supplied food for NSCP cruises, worked at Night of the Yards and other events in the community and are always there to help us when we need a venue for a function. Thank you for giving back to your community and we are proud to recognize you as our inductee for September 2016.
CSX VAT Mitigation Fund Committee-This Taskforce has worked hard over the last year to help create criteria and select applications for funding in a fair and objective manner. The group is made up of representatives in the ANC 6B and D area who have the difficult task of awarding funds from the many quality applications received in each phase during this 6 phase project. We thank the members for their hard work and dedication. After Phase 6, their work will conclude, however, the results of their work will live on. We are proud to recognize you as our inductee for July 2016.
Courtyard Washington Capitol Hill/Navy Yard-This was the first hotel to open in the area (140 L Street SE) and they have been a great community partner. In addition to the use of their boardroom for meetings, they have graciously donated rooms for overnight guests who have participated in community events. Thank you to the management and staff of the hotel for helping to create a vibrant riverfront community and we are proud to recognize you as our Inductee for May 2016.
Nando's Peri-Peri Yards Park- For 3 years and counting, Chris, Scott, Hanh, Stephanie and the team have hosted School Fundraisers helping us raise thousands of dollars for our schools and annual Teacher Appreciation events to applaud our hard working teachers.
Thank you to Nando's in Yards Park for their contributions to the community and we are proud to recognize you as our inaugural inductee in April 2016.
